2. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Agreement to These Terms

By using this Website, submitting an enquiry, or engaging Horolume for any service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use this Website or engage our services.

You must be at least 18 years of age to engage our services or enter into an Agreement. By submitting an enquiry or approving an Assessment, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter a binding agreement under Malaysian law.

3. SERVICES

What We Do

Horolume provides the following watch repair services from our workshop in Kuala Lumpur:

  • Movement Service and Cleaning: disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, lubrication, reassembly and rate regulation for mechanical and self-winding calibres.
  • Case and Bracelet Refinishing: hand finishing of case surfaces, bracelet link inspection and replacement, gasket renewal and water resistance testing.
  • Vintage Restoration Programme: multi-stage restoration of older pieces including research, parts sourcing, movement overhaul and case work.

Services are available to clients located anywhere in Malaysia. We do not currently accept international postal intake. We do not provide services for quartz movements, smart watches or digital timepieces.

4. SERVICE PROCESS AND APPROVAL

How a Service Begins

No bench work commences without the following steps having been completed:

  1. The Client delivers or posts the watch to the workshop after prior arrangement.
  2. Horolume issues a written condition Assessment including a cost estimate.
  3. The Client provides written approval (by email or in writing) of the Assessment and scope.

If, during the course of work, Horolume identifies a condition requiring additional scope or cost beyond the approved Assessment, we will stop work, communicate the finding to the Client, and resume only upon receiving fresh written approval. The original approved cost will not be exceeded without the Client's written consent.

If the Client declines the original Assessment, the watch is returned uncleaned and unrepaired. A handling fee not exceeding RM 50 may apply to cover intake administration.

5. PAYMENT

Fees and Payment

All prices are quoted and payable in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Starting rates are:

  • Movement Service and Cleaning: from RM 520 (parts additional)
  • Case and Bracelet Refinishing: from RM 1,450 (up to three components)
  • Vintage Restoration Programme: from RM 4,350 (parts and research costs additional)

The final invoice will match the approved Assessment, unless a scope change was approved in writing. Parts costs are listed separately and itemised. Payment is due upon collection or, for postal clients, prior to return dispatch.

We accept payment by bank transfer or cash. We do not currently accept credit or debit card payments at the workshop.

6. COLLECTION AND UNCOLLECTED PIECES

Returning Your Watch

Once a service is complete, you will be notified by email or telephone. You are expected to collect or arrange return shipping within 30 days of notification. After 60 days without collection and without prior arrangement, a storage charge of RM 10 per day may apply.

For pieces uncollected after six months and with no communication from the Client, we reserve the right to treat the piece as abandoned. We will make reasonable attempts to contact the Client before taking any further steps.

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Website Content

All content on this Website, including text, images, service descriptions and design, is the property of Horolume. You may not reproduce, distribute or use any part of this Website for commercial purposes without our written permission. You may share links to this Website freely.

8. DISCLAIMERS

Limitations on Assurances

Watch servicing involves judgment as well as skill. While Horolume applies recognised horological practices, we cannot assure specific rate accuracy outcomes for every calibre or piece. Regulation charts show the results achieved after service; they are not forward-looking commitments.

For vintage pieces, parts availability cannot be predicted. Where period-correct parts cannot be sourced, we will communicate this and propose alternatives before proceeding.

This Website is provided for information purposes. The content does not constitute professional advice and should not be relied upon as such.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Our Liability to You

Horolume holds professional liability cover for work carried out at the workshop. In the event of damage or loss caused by our negligence, our liability is limited to the value stated on the intake receipt or the agreed service cost, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for pre-existing conditions that could not be identified before disassembly, for the failure of non-original or third-party components, or for circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

10. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Resolving Issues

If you have a concern about a service, please contact us at [email protected] or in writing to our workshop address. We will acknowledge your concern within five working days and work towards a resolution.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 (Malaysia) or other applicable consumer protection legislation.

11. GENERAL PROVISIONS

Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement: These Terms and Conditions, together with any written Assessment you have approved, constitute the entire agreement between you and Horolume for the relevant service.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Changes: We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above will reflect any changes. Continued use of this Website or engagement of our services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
